Sheffield Interfaith (SIF) are local people who are working together to promote mutual respect and interfaith dialogue in Sheffield.
We achieve this by getting to know each other at regular ‘Food and Friendship’ dinners and annual interfaith walks. We use this website to publicise any interfaith event in Sheffield that is submitted to us.
Sheffield Interfaith was founded in September 1993, the centenary of the World Parliament of Religions. At the time race legislation did not address discrimination on grounds of religion. SIF was not affiliated to any church or other religious body, nor to any political group, and was independent of the Sheffield Racial Equality Council and Sheffield City Council, though there was some overlap of members. This independence continues, and SIF receives no external funding. SIF organised various discussions, talks and social events. Over the years several other interfaith and multifaith forums have been set up in Sheffield, some of which continue at present.
Individual membership of SIF is £5 per year, and a faith group or congregation can join for £15 per year. Please one of the 2 options below
